Senator Ted Cruz Urges House to Impeach Biden Over Hunter Investigation Findings

Texas Senator Ted Cruz, a member of the Republican Party, is calling on the House of Representatives to contemplate initiating impeachment proceedings against President Biden. This call comes in response to the recent revelation made by an IRS whistleblower, who testified about alleged efforts by the Justice Department to conceal information regarding a tax fraud investigation involving Hunter Biden, the President’s son.

Cruz specifically drew attention to a noteworthy assertion made during the confidential testimony, which was made public on Thursday. The testimony mentioned the discovery of a WhatsApp message, wherein Hunter Biden, aged 53, allegedly referenced his father in what appeared to be an attempt to coerce financial assistance from a Chinese business associate.

“Look, this WhatsApp is direct evidence of Joe Biden abusing his government power to enrich his son, and, assuming 10% for the big guy, to enrich himself,”Cruz, who is 52 years old, made this statement during an episode of his podcast titled “Verdict with Ted Cruz.”

Cruz emphasized the importance of initiating an impeachment inquiry against the 80-year-old President, stating that the current moment is the opportune time for the investigation into the troubled first son to evolve into such an effort.

According to the IRS whistleblowers, significant individuals within the Biden Justice Department obstructed their investigation into Hunter Biden, hindering any substantial examination into Joe Biden himself.

Among the allegations is the claim that Assistant US Attorney Lesley Wolf deliberately impeded crucial lines of inquiry concerning Joe Biden, asserting that there was no distinct criminal activity involved.

Despite the senior Biden’s repeated assertions that he never engaged in discussions regarding his son’s international business ventures, the incriminating text message raises new skepticism regarding the president’s statements.

“I am sitting here with my father and we would like to understand why the commitment made has not been fulfilled. Tell the director that I would like to resolve this now before it gets out of hand, and now means tonight. And, Z, if I get a call or text from anyone involved in this other than you, Zhang, or the chairman, I will make certain that between the man sitting next to me and every person he knows and my ability to forever hold a grudge that you will regret not following my direction,” Hunter Biden corresponded with Henry Zhao, the director of Harvest Fund Management.

The first whistleblower has been identified as Gary Shapley, who serves as an IRS supervisory agent. On the other hand, the second whistleblower has chosen to remain anonymous.

Cruz claimed that the WhatsApp message establishes a direct connection between Joe Biden and the substantial sums of money originating from communist China. However, the Department of Justice (DOJ) and Attorney General Merrick Garland impeded any investigation into the threatening message.

Garland strongly refuted the accusations suggesting that Delaware US Attorney David Weiss, who was responsible for the Hunter Biden investigation, faced obstacles from high-ranking officials at the DOJ.

Weiss himself wrote a letter to Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) in early June, asserting that he possessed the “ultimate authority” in the Hunter Biden inquiry. He also downplayed concerns about political interference in the investigation.

Recently disclosed court records indicated that Hunter Biden struck a plea deal with David Weiss, resulting in his guilty plea on two charges related to the failure to pay his income taxes.

Additionally, Hunter Biden will participate in a pretrial diversion program regarding his alleged unlawful possession of a firearm. A court hearing regarding this matter has been arranged for July 26.

The attorney representing Hunter Biden asserted that the actions of the President’s son are unrelated to the Biden family.
