Suspected Serial Killer Murdered By Cellmate

Billy Chemirmir was found guilty in 2022 by a Texas court of killing Mary Brooks, who was 87 years old. He was accused of killing 22 old women, including the victim. In a court of law, the other families will never receive justice.

Authorities discovered Chemirmir dead in his cell at Tennessee Colony, Texas’s Coffield Unit on September 19. At the prison, the 50-year-old was serving two life sentences without the possibility of release. The culprit has been identified by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) as the killer’s cellmate. Add to that, he was doing a life sentence.

Regarding the killer’s passing, the authorities have not disclosed any further details. The relatives of his purported victims were eager to learn about his murder. Chemirmir is charged with killing 22 elderly women by suffocating them for a period of two years. It is said that he killed them in order to take from his victims. The majority of the fatalities were later reopened even though it was initially decided that they were natural.

One of the suspected victims of Chemirmir was Phyllis Payne, 91. After learning of his passing, Loren Smith, her daughter, told the local media that she found it hard to accept his passing.“My first response was shock, chills running all over my body,” she said. Smith went on to say that while she doesn’t condone murder, she’s happy the saga is over.

Another accused victim, Doris Gleason’s daughter Shannon Dion, claimed her mother was terrified when she passed away. She claimed that the fact that Chemirmir “did not have a peaceful passing” brings her “some relief.” The bereaved daughter continued, describing the death as “shocking” and expressing “relief” that her “nightmare is over.”

Dan Probst, the nephew of victim Catherine Sinclair, referred to Chemirmir’s murder as “jailhouse justice.” He clarified that because of all the suffering his family had endured, he was unsure of what feelings to experience.
